Ruturaj Gaikwad is a professional Indian cricketer who was born on January 31, 1997, in Pune, Maharashtra. He is a right-handed top-order batsman who also occasionally bowls right-arm off-break.
Early Life and Domestic Career:
Gaikwad started playing cricket at a young age, and he made his debut for Maharashtra in the 2016-17 season of the Ranji Trophy. In the 2017-18 season, he scored his maiden first-class century against Karnataka. In the 2018-19 season, Gaikwad scored 794 runs in the Ranji Trophy, which included three centuries and four fifties.
IPL Career:
In the IPL 2019 auction, Ruturaj Gaikwad was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise for INR 20 lakhs but didn't get many opportunities to play. However, in the IPL 2020 season, Gaikwad was given a chance to play in the CSK team due to injuries to some of their key players.
